A stylish set of 4 Arts & Crafts dining chairs made of solid oak in original finish.
These chairs can be attributed to either Wylie & Lochhead Scotland or Shapland & Petter Barnstaple. Style/Makers Mark assigned to bottom ‘206’.
All standing on square tapering legs with block feet to the front, swept feet to the back. Four shaped vertical splats underneath with removable padded upholstered seats to each. The back offers great support with seven vertical supports and a beautiful stylised carving of an acorn to the top panel.
Nice colour and patination, suitable for all décor types.
Wear consistent with age in good sturdy condition. Newly and fully upholstered to include new webbing and padding to meet with current fire regulations and covered in a good quality beige/blue check fabric. In excellent condition, all joints are tight, no damage or repairs.

A Victorian Pine farmhouse table with turned legs and a useful 60x60cm pull out drawer to one end.
This is a heavy table with a 3.5cm thick 3 plank solid pine top. It has been much loved and used and dates back to 1890.
It sits 4 adults comfortably, possibly 6 and would be a great addition to any country kitchen or dining room.
Good Condition: Top shows signs of staining and use as you would expect of an item this age but I think it adds to the charm. It could easily be sanded back if required. A Solid sturdy table.

Portuguese - Vintage

These have been hung on a wall and come with necessary fittings to do so again however, they would also make fantastic serving platters.
Both measuring 15” (38-39 cm) in diameter they certainly make a statement.
Signed ‘reel’, made in Portugal who are renowned for producing fine quality ceramics.
Decorated in a pale pink and white floral design they would blend with both traditional and more contemporary interiors.
One plate has a delicate pierced fretted design around the outside while the other has a swirling fluted pattern from the centre of the plate to the outer edge.
Good Condition, no cracks or chips, just a few minor firing imperfections and slight crazing that can be seen when examining up very close. (See images).

Its not just a decorative piece but a versatile and useful item too, pen pot, makeup brush holder or vase - you choose!
This vintage 1950's vase has a highly textured Fat Lava style finish known as Smalto Roccia (rock glaze) with hand painted Effetto Lacca (enamel effect) and sgraffito designs on each side.
One side shows a woman's face and the other side 3 flower stems and the interior is glazed in a beautiful bright turquoise blue colour.
Excellent Condition: No cracks or chips. Minor area of fading at top of interior (see images)as expected with an item of this age. Makers mark on base.

Did you know... Marmaca of San Marino 1947-1964 was the most important factory in the republic that became known for their pottery and ceramics. By 1949 Marmaca employed almost 200 people and developed a worldwide clientele for their unique modern pieces.
Founded in the 1940's by Luigi Masi, Filippo Martelli and Wilfredo Carli, the company name was derivied from the first letters of their surnames - Marmaca. The factory closed in 1964.

This very Large Victorian antique pine dome top trunk with dovetail joints has original cast iron metal ironmongery on both ends and a brass cup pull handle to the front. The hinged top opens to reveal a spacious interior with a candle box to the left.
Good Condition: Structurally solid and sound. Overall, an excellent example of its kind with some age related imperfections, signs of historic wood worm and minor internal repair work completed.

Framed Antique Citrus Prints (x2)

The light airy look of the free-floating fruits makes this a popular set of prints compatible with a modern minimalist decor.
Two prints of 17th century hand-coloured engravings of a lemon - Plate 253 and an orange - Plate 379 from Giovanni Baptista Ferrari's publication "Hesperides, sive, De Malorum Aureorum Cultura Etusa Libri Quatuor", (Hesperides, or Concerning the Cultivation and Uses of the Golden Apple in Four Volumes), one of the earliest books on citrus fruit, published by Herman Scheus in Rome in 1648.
The prints are framed in an attractive decorative dark green and gold gilt wood frame with a pattern at each corner and a cream-colored split mat.
Excellent Condition: The prints are in excellent condition and the frames are lovely quality and unique design. Due to age of item, some wear and tear to the edges of frames (see images).

Did you know... Giovanni Baptista Ferrari (1584-1655) was a Jesuit, a professor, a botanist, an artist and a friend of Galileo. His treatise on the cultivation and taxonomy of citrus fruit based much of its design on the mythical garden of Hesperidies. It is considered one of the most beautiful, scientifically accurate and decorative botanical works of seventeenth-century Europe. The famous Dutch artist Cornelis Bloemaert produced many of the copperplate engravings.

Undoubtedly the epitome of the Golden Age of Travel - this Vintage Steamer Trunk is perfect for display or storage. A flat top steamer trunk with plenty of character and tales to tell!
Altogether a perfect statement piece, ideal storage or the occasional coffee table - it is a versatile piece in any home or retail environment.
On the side you can see in Black C.P, the original owners initials and embossed on the leather side handles and brass lock are the Best & Co mark of quality . The corners are reinforced with leather and 2 long leather straps fix with buckles to secure. On top is a beautiful original Grand Hotel de la Paix Madrid travel label centrally positioned that just adds the finishing touch to this piece along with a distinctive green stripe. The interior is in good original condition with manufacturers label in tact.
Good condition - Wear consistent with age and use. Luggage strap on the top in the past has been repaired and the catch can be a little temperamental, sometimes opening but this is an easy fix.

Did you know... F.Best & Co Audley Street London were a renowned and respected British Trunk and Portmanteau makers which are highly collectable today.
The Grand Hotel de la Paix Madrid located in Puerta del Sol opened in the summer of 1864. It was built to meet the anticipated demand for new travellers from the opening of the railway line between Madrid and Paris. In 1874 it was considered to be the leading hotel in Madrid. In 1895 it was renovated to have an elevator and electric lighting and the travel label here was to promote the relaunch. Today it houses the Apple store.
Antique Italian Majoilica Table Lamp SS-010-D-S

Colourful early 20th Century Sgraffito majolica pottery lamp; marked on base.
Beautiful floral table lamp, very unique design and hand painted with 3 flowers each a different colour displaying the rich jewel-toned glazes, elaborate tableaux and whimsical, sculptural forms all coveted traits of majolica pottery.
This has been professionally rewired with new cable and fittings as the original was unsafe. It requires a standard bayonet type bulb.
Good Condition: Rare for this age. Chip in base central hole but not visible.

Did you know...Sgraffito wares are comparatively rare. The technique was derived from Byzantine sources by way of Cyprus which was under Venetian rule from 1472 to 1570. Manufacture was confined to northern Italy, the largest centre being at Bologna. The body of the sgraffito ware was covered with a slip of contrasting colour, the decoration then being scratched through to the body beneath and the whole covered with a lead glaze, which has a yellowish tone. Often the incised designs were first embellished with underglaze colours (blue, green, purple, brown, and yellow) that tended to run during firing. This technique died out finally at the end of the 18th century.
